Participants will explore the spectrum of essential components including:
- Identify procedures requiring an aseptic technique
- Environmental controls and considerations
- Procedural sequencing including device reprocessing
- Hand preparation, gowning and gloving
- Maintaining and monitoring adherence to sterile field protocols.
Empower your team with the skills and systems needed to demonstrate good practice during invasive procedures and enhance patient trust and confidence.
Our program content and documentation provided may be used to support your practice accreditation training requirements.
You will learn:
- how to determine the appropriate aseptic technique based on the procedure, your specific circumstances and recognised standards
- surgical hand hygiene technique options – traditional and waterless hand scrubs
- surgical gowning and gloving techniques including safe removal
- the importance of preparing for and ensuring support during surgical procedures
- how to establish and maintain an aseptic field for simple and complex procedures
- the importance of the equipment manufacturer’s instructions for use particularly for implant kits and surgical handpieces
- strategies to reduce the risk of inhalation and ingestion of kit components.
This program covers procedures performed under local anaesthetic, not IV sedation or general anaesthetic.
Includes: Handouts, certificates, CPD points.
