Case discussion session:

  • Specialists will present a case for 2 - 5 minutes followed by a short Q&A session for 2 - 5 minutes.
  • Followed by attendees to discuss their own cases for about 25 minutes.
  • Attendees will then rotate to the next table to be with another specialist. (5min for swap)

Speakers

Dr. Francis Chan

Dr Francis Chan completed undergraduate and specialist endodontic training at the University of Melbourne. He received the RACDS Prize and top marks in microbiology in the RACDS Primaries, and holds RACDS Fellowship. Francis works full-time in private practice and serves as Secretary/Treasurer of the Australian Society of Endodontology (Vic), and Treasurer of the Asian Pacific Endodontic Confederation. He was previously Co-Convenor of Endodontics for the Doctor of Dental Surgery program at Melbourne University.

 

Dr. Alana Smith

Dr Smith is a specialist Periodontist in private practice in Melbourne and Geelong. She completed her undergraduate dental training at the University of Otago and her specialist postgraduate training at the University of Melbourne. Her professional interests include the treatment of periodontal disease, soft tissue grafting and implant dentistry. Dr Smith is a committee member of the Australian Society of Periodontology Victorian Branch, co-director of the ADAVB Inner Melbourne Group Study Club and has served as a clinical demonstrator and examiner for dental students.

 

Dr Carolyn Ng 
Dr Ng completed her Bachelor of Dental Science from the University of Melbourne and Doctorate of Clinical Dentistry from the University of Sydney. She has served Melbourne and regional Victoria through the provision of general dental and specialist orthodontic services, supervision of dental students, mentoring, lecturing and tutoring of dentists, and executive roles on the ADAVB and ASOVB. She is the current Chair of the Australasian Orthodontic Board and works in private practice in Hawthorn.
