Broken Tooth Panic: How To Safely Manage Teeth With Fractures
The presence of fractures within teeth create a confusing array of signs and symptoms. Fractures in teeth affect all domains of the tooth including the dental pulp, hard dental tissues and marginal alveolar bone. The lecture will describe how to interpret the complex information to know when and how to manage teeth with fractures. Learn how to rapidly assess which teeth with fractures require monitoring, conservative intervention or extraction to obtain the best patient focused outcome. The lecture will also describe how to involve your patient in the decision making process.

A/Prof Phillippe Zimet (Endodontist)
A/Prof Phillippe Zimet is a specialist endodontist, obtaining his Masters Degree from the University of Maryland in Baltimore, USA. He is the inaugural past Lead in Endodontics at the La Trobe University School of Dentistry and Oral Health and is currently the adjunct Professor in the Department of Rural Health at Latrobe University. Phillippe is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons. Phillippe is an invited member of the Academy of Dentistry International, International College of Dentists and Pierre Fauchard Academy.
He is a Past President of the Australian Society of Endodontology (Federal) Inc. and the Asian Pacific Endodontic Confederation. In 2014, Phillippe was accepted as an Honorary Life Member of the Australian Society of Endodontology (VB). In 2016 he was inaugurated as a Foundation member International Association for Dental Traumatology. Phillippe has held many positions on ADAVB committees and was awarded the ADAVB Inc Dentistry Achievement Award for services to the Dental Profession.
A/Prof Zimet has published, and lectured nationally and internationally on many aspects of endodontics and infection control. He edited the Systematic Operating Procedure Manual for Infection Control of ADA (VB) Inc. This was used as the basis for the first Infection Control Guide of the Australian Dental Association Inc.
