Accreditation is independent recognition that an organisation, program or activity meets the requirements of defined criteria or standards. Accreditation is an internationally recognised evaluation process used to assess the quality of care and services provided in a range of areas including health care.
Dental Practice Accreditation is awarded to the practice and is location specific. Accreditation is awarded by an independent accrediting agency once a practice has submitted evidence demonstrating compliance with the National Safety and Quality in Health Service (NSQHS) Standards.
Dental practices derive a series of benefits from the accreditation process, including:
- Being part of an internationally recognised system of benchmarking safety and quality
- Obtaining a competitive advantage (e.g. accreditation can be used as a marketing tool)
- Increasing practice efficiency
- Reducing risk and enhancing quality
- Demonstrating a commitment to an industry-regulated scheme.
Practice Plus provides introductory and re-accreditation guidance for completion of Accreditation Pro software and ongoing management.
Accreditation Pro is the online tool made available through Quality in Practice (QIP) for practices to provide evidence, or reference to the evidence in relation to the Accreditation Standards. As this may be daunting, we can assist you in navigating the program. (If you do not have access to the online tool for Accreditation Pro, the evidence needs to be submitted to QIP in hard copy.)
We hold regular practice accreditation workshops or you can book a consultation. Contact us to book a consultation for your practice.
