2018–2022 EBA implementation finalised – Hybrid roles allocated
The 2018–2022 Enterprise Bargaining Agreements (EBAs) for Victorian public sector dentists were operative from 2019. Under these agreements, 10 Hybrid positions were available to dentists performing clinical and managerial roles in Victorian public dental services.
In September 2020, an independent panel comprised of Dental Health Services Victoria, Victorian Hospitals' Industrial Association and ADAVB representatives, endorsed by the Department of Health and Human Services, reviewed applications from dental services at public hospitals and community health centres. EFT requests exceeded the EFT available. All 10 positions were allocated (five level 5 and five level 4), with seven to public hospitals and three to community health centres in metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria.
We would like to acknowledge and thank all public dentists performing these roles, regardless of receipt of a formal Hybrid position, and all public sector dentists, dental specialists and their teams for the important work they do to provide a high standard of dental care to Victorians. There is more work to be done to support public dentists to achieve fulfilling and equitable employment, and we aim to continue working with the ADAVB Public Dentistry Committee, members and other stakeholders to achieve this.
