ADAVB BOQ Specialist bursaries closing soon
Applications for the Australian Dental Association Victorian Branch (ADAVB) BOQ Specialist CPD Practice Bursary close on 14 November and Recent Graduate Bursary close on 31 October.
The bursaries recognise and support one dental practice and one recent graduate per year in Victoria that are committed to quality learning through continuing professional development.
ADAVB BOQ Specialist CPD Practice Bursary - $10,000 to spend on professional development and training
Dr Thivagar Nirmalann, 2021 ADAVB BOQ Specialist CPD Practice Bursary recipient said, “The bursary has improved our practice by helping to upskill the clinicians to provide better care for our patients both clinically and in communication. We can serve our patients better with a wider and broader knowledge base.
We've spent the bursary on a variety of CPD & courses run by ADAVB and other educators such as CPR, implants, composite, aligners and even Botox! With the help of this bursary we've upskilled three of our clinicians on Guided Biofilm Therapy and raised awareness in our local community on biofilm and prevention of gum disease. We have also had weekly clinician training sessions at our clinic to help them develop patient communication skills and even hands-on training such as clinical photography and restorative work.
I would encourage other clinics to apply for this bursary to help upskill their team and take their practice to the next level!”
Applications for the CPD practice bursary close at 5pm on Monday 14 November 2022.
ADAVB BOQ Specialist Recent Graduate Bursary - $5000 to spend on ADAVB professional development courses
Dr Evangeline Alphonse, 2021 ADAVB BOQ Specialist Recent Graduate Bursary recipient said, “Winning the bursary in 2021 was a deeply humbling and motivating moment. We’ve used the bursary so far to run clinic wide training and on-site CPD. We have also utilised it with the ADAVB's Practice Plus consulting service and they’ve been outstanding. Our current plans include using it to upskill associates in implants and run CPR training sessions for the whole clinic. It’s been a really great bonding experience for us to use it as a group - it’s not often you get to do CPD with everyone you work with!
Applying for this bursary, whether you win it or not, is a great way to reflect on what you’ve achieved as a dentist to date and to be proud of how much you’ve given back to this profession and your community.”
Applications for the recent graduate bursary close at 5pm on Monday 31 October 2022.
