Introducing new dental health ambassadors, Wala the Platypus, Dhuna the Koala and Dirran the Kangaroo
Dental Health Services Victoria (DHSV) is excited to introduce its new dental health ambassadors.
Wala the Platypus, Dhuna the Koala and Dirran the Kangaroo were created to advocate for dental health with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families.
The new dental health ambassadors headline a new Deadly Tooth Tips series. The artwork, created by artist Madison Connors, celebrates Aboriginal culture and language. It that was prepared for this year's National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day on 4 August 2021 and Dental Health Week. These were designed to help share messages about keeping our teeth and body healthy.
Poor dental health, mainly tooth decay, affects one in four Australian children. Now more than ever it is essential that we raise awareness and support children and families in caring for their children’s oral health.
